Fabric!

UNT intern Ms. Jessica's advice on laying out fabric....measure twice/ cut ounce.

...and the importance of pressing seams.

Instructor Padilla demos hand embellishment modes and methods.

The end-of-camp 'tea party/awards ceremony' is planned by the young dressmakers.

And when the day arrives, they trade the week's typical attire of shorts and camp T's for party dresses [and hats] for a fancy end - of - camp Tea Party (planned entirely by the students) & Awards Ceremony!

Intern checks on each young dress makers sampler of stitches
...learning the basics of their machine before any sewing begins.
Q&A on pattern layout
UNT intern Ms Ayumi talks notches, arrows and pattern markings.

After mastering stitches, pinning, cutting, pressing, button holes and machine & hand stitches, [and oh my yards and yards of ripping out of crooked seams]  the budding designers have the skills and confidence to sew!
